Love Walk For Breast Cancer Research
Parishioner Susan Love founded the Love Walk to support breast cancer
research. Be one of the walkers to turn out in support of a worthy
cause. |

Common Ground Dinner
Prepare a simple dinner (like lasagna or mac n’ cheese and
fruit for about 45 people) and deliver it to Common Ground, a counseling
center for homeless teens at risk for HIV/Aids. Sign up to make or
donate food. One or two volunteers can drop off the food (optional)
to Common Ground in Santa Monica and get a sense of the facility
and the work they do. |

Thrift Shop Summer Brigade
Help staffing the shop is welcome any time of year, but is especially
needed in the summer, when the “regulars” take vacations.
(Volunteers need vacations, too!) Sign up to sort items at St.
Matthew’s or head down to Santa Monica to stock shelves,
work the cash register, or help customers. |

PRISM Picnic
An opportunity to help prepare, serve, or donate food for a picnic
on Founder’s Meadow at St. Matthew’s for family members
of prisoners served by the PRISM Ministry program. This event offers
an opportunity to meet some of the children and adults who benefit
directly from Outreach ministries at St. Matthew’s. |

Saint Matthew’s Thrift Shop
The Thrift Shop needs volunteers every day, but especially on Thursday
and Friday afternoons from 1-4 pm and anytime on Saturday.
The Thrift Shop “Summer
Brigade” helps cover for times during the summer when our regular volunteers
take a well-deserved break. If a group would like to work at the shop, they
can arrange in advance to structure their shift according to their needs. |

One Voice Food Packing
Join the crowd at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica to pack meals for
people in need. This evening event, from 7:30 – 9:00pm, is
a great time to bring your kids. Even the toddlers can help load

Step Up On Second
One of our outreach partners, Step Up on Second, helps people with
mental health issues get back on their feet. They offer vocational
training through a convenience store and catering company in Santa
Monica, run by Step Up’s clients. It is called Fresh Start
Catering. If you ever need an event catered, consider using this
