The St. Matthew's Adult Choir is an integral part of the worship life of St. Matthew's Parish. It is the responsibility of the Adult Choir to lead the congregational song (hymns, psalms, service music) at worship services every week between September and June and offer choral music on behalf of the congregation during the time of the Offering and Communion. The choir is made up of volunteers from St. Matthew's Parish as well as a core of professional section-leader/soloists who assist the choir in learning and performing its music and also sing solos and ensemble pieces from time to time during the services. The choir rehearses each week (usually on Thursdays at 7:30 PM). In addition to most Sundays (the choir usually sings at the 10:15 AM service, sometimes at 8:00 AM), the choir sings two concerts annually (a Christmas concert and a Spring concert - with orchestra or other instrumental ensemble), Holy Week and Easter services and on other important occasions such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday etc. Currently, the choir numbers approximately 35 people. Membership in the
choir is open to parishioners by audition. For more information, contact Music Director Tom Neenan, 573-7787, ext. 127 or Parish Organist Roger Daggy.
